Fixed installation testing (FIT)
The Electricity at Work Act, 1989 states that all electrical systems and equipment in the working environment must be in a safe condition. Owners of buildings have a duty of care to users, and to comply with these regulations the Health & Safety Executive recommend that you should implement a regular inspection and testing programme.
Fixed installation testing (FIT) focuses on testing the electrical services and systems that conduct electricity around a building (whether commercial, industrial or residential). It covers all hard wiring and any fixed electrical equipment, including lighting, sockets and all fixed plant.
The recommended maximum periods between FIT inspections are three years for factories, five years for commercial buildings, and ten years for residential properties.
We carry out a comprehensive fixed installation testing service for a wide range of clients and our engineers ensure minimum disruption to our clients’ working environment or place of business.
